Ashraf Hamad
Founder and Chairperson
I am a Higher Education adviser and mentor with a long experience in university-based professional support in the UK. Prior to this, I worked in the humanitarian sector in Palestine, with experience in both local and international organisations. Combining these two professional trajectories, with solid academic backgrounds in both civil engineering and entrepreneurship, has enriched my skills and capabilities in areas related to project management, ethical leadership, student support, community-driven delivery, outreach, rigorous governance, effective partnerships and academic advice. As a Said Foundation scholar myself, I experienced first-hand the possibilities that higher education scholarships offer its awardees, affirming my belief that education changes lives and offers real transformations that are both individual and communal. Hence, I founded 80 PLUS. In my free time, I enjoy reading, photography, and community volunteering.
