Ahmed Alagha

Ahmed Alagha is an academic specialising in resilient and sustainable infrastructure, with expertise in dams, metro systems, buried infrastructure, and offshore wind turbines. He earned his PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge in 2023 and holds a master’s degree from the University of Birmingham. He is a recipient of the Philip Turner Prize for outstanding PhD research.
For over seven years, Ahmed has actively supported Palestinian students in the UK, helping secure university admissions, scholarships, and visas. He recently played a key role in the campaign that led to the evacuation of more than 100 fully funded Palestinian students from Gaza. He joined the 80 PLUS Board as a natural extension of his commitment to expanding access to high-quality education for Palestinian students.
